DIVERSITY MAPPING
The purpose of this workshop is to help groups understand the important relationship between diversity and and innovation; in a workshop designed to map AND make
better use of existing knowledge diversity
In the first part of the workshop Ph.D Susanne Justesen will give you an overall introduction to diversity in groups, what a difference actually is, and none the least, why diversity is important
to the performance of any knowledge-intensive organisation or group, and especially how important diversity is to innovation and creativity.
In the workshop, we map out the available diversity in the group; and first step in that process is identify and visualize the knowledge domains (diversity of
knowledge) that each participant brings to the group
After the overall introduction, participants are split into pairs of two, where they will interview each other using the INNOVERSITY interview guide, in order to identify the knowledge domains that
they each bring to the group. Based on this, a knowledge diversity profile is developed for each participant, as illustrated above
In the second part of the workshop, people split into groups (existing project groups or teams), where they create a map of the available knowledge domains (diversity) in the group, based on the INNOVERSITY knowledge domain

This group INNOVERSITY profile - as illustrated above - is highly useful in understanding which differences are likely to dominate in this particular group, and which differences are likely to be
difficult for the group to leverage and use.
Once the INNOVERSITY group profile is done, each group is invited to discuss which domains are likely to dominate in their collaboration, and based on input from Susanne Justesen, the group will discuss and decide what to do in order to become better at leveraging their available knowledge diversity for innovation and increased performance.
